Core Concepts
Before diving into ArchVault, it helps to understand the core concepts that shape how the application is organized.
C4 Model Levels
Section titled “C4 Model Levels”- System Context (L1) — shows how your system interacts with users and external systems
- Container (L2) — zooms into a system to show its containers (applications, databases, etc.)
- Component (L3) — zooms into a container to show its internal components
Organizations
Section titled “Organizations”Organizations are the top-level grouping for teams and workspaces. Each organization has members with roles.
Workspaces
Section titled “Workspaces”A workspace is a collection of architecture elements (systems, containers, components) and diagrams that belong to an organization.
Diagrams
Section titled “Diagrams”Diagrams are visual representations of your architecture at a specific C4 level, built from the elements in your workspace.
